Kristiina + Cooee Collaboration

SMITTEN: the word that came to mind when I received my sculptures from Kristiina, in collaboration with Cooee Design! Kristiina, a Stockholm artist, sculpture, and creative genius, came together with the one and only Catrine, the founder and director of Cooee Design, to collaborate on this wonderful idea. The sculptures that Kristiina designs, work close at hand with the work of Catrine. Their distinct differences and individual details, complement each other brilliantly! It’s a match made in Heaven.

It was nearly impossible to come to a conclusion on which sculptures I wanted. But I eventually settled on “Olie Mud” and Olufemi Limestone.” In both sculptures, I truly love the matte finish and the rough textures. It gives them massive dimension and character. And let me tell you, my camera lens loves these sculptures…or maybe it’s me. Perhaps, I am the one that loves them!

Another clever and fine detail of all of the sculptures, is that they are named after something of importance: “The name Ollie comes from the olive tree. The olive tree can cope in really dry periods and be strong and beautiful anyway.Whereas the name, Olufemi comes from the “Yoruba language and means God loves me.”

I’ve already had numerous requests as to where to purchase these two sculptures. You can find them on the Cooee Design site, alongside all of Catrine’s fantastic work.
